TVEnthusiast Newsletter 005 – March 20th, 2018

Soon, TVEnthusiast will be launching a weekly newsletter filled with easily digestible content ranging from episode impressions to news to a schedule of upcoming shows.  Though it is not yet an actual newsletter, nor does it have a true name yet, we are experimenting with it as a weekly article that will eventually  turn into a newsletter.

Without further ado, here is the second issue of our yet to be titled newsletter.

News

  • The first episode of ABC’s new mystery series The Crossing is now available to stream online via ABC’s Go website.
  • Travis Tope (Independence Day: Resurgence) and Melvin Gregg (Freakish) have been tapped as the leads in season 2 of Netflix’s hilarious true crime mockumentary series, American Vandal.
  • Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire), Hong Chau (Downsizing), Jeremy Allen White (Shameless) and Sydney Poitier (Chicago PD) have been cast in Universal Cable Production’s Homecoming.
  • Christine Lahti (Chicago Hope) cast as a lead in Fox’s adaptation of Gone Baby Gone.
  • Sarah Jones (The Path) has landed a lead role in CBS’ adaptation of L.A. Confidential.
  • Bre-Z (Empire) and Greta Onieogou (Miss Sloane) have been cast in The CW’s yet to be titled drama from April Blair (The Shannara Chronicles) and Football Player Spencer Paysinger.
  • HBO and Damon Lindelof’s (LOST) adaptation of Watchmen will be filmed in Vancouver, the same city used to film the Zack Snyder version.
  • USA’s critically lauded series The Sinner has been picked up for a second season despite the strong closure of the first season’s story.
  • Nickelodeon developing a soft reboot of Clarissa Explains It All, with Melissa Joan Hart reprising the titular role, now as the mother of her own family.
  • Annabella Sciorra (Sopranos) will take on a villainous role in season 2 of Marvel’s Luke Cage.
  • Jonny Coyne (Turn) to portray the villainous Allfather D’Aronique in Season 3 of AMC’s Preacher.
  • Sherry Cola (I Love Dick) is joining the cast of TNT’s Claws for its second season.
  • Actress Elizabeth Debicki reluctantly confirmed a second season of The Night Manager is in the works.
  • Matt Ryan (Constantine) will reprise his role in season 4 of Legends of Tomorrow, this time as a series regular.
  • Stellan Skarsgård (The Avengers) and Emily Watson (Genius) to star in HBO’s Chernobyl miniseries.
  • Nora Zehetner (Brick) has been cast in ABC’s Designated Survivor as a Russian intelligence agent.
